I am not a demanding photographer who insists on monopolizing your time on wedding day to get my personal photos. It's your wedding and we will work together to plan a timeline that ensures you have your dream images while still enjoying the day.

Although I have been an avid photographer for many years, I photographed my first wedding 12 years ago after being asked by a friend to photograph his wedding. We were scuba diving buddies and he knew I was an underwater photographer. I'm guessing I must have been the only person with a camera he knew LOL! I resisted for weeks but eventually gave in only to find I loved doing it. That came as a huge surprise to me since I thought I preferred photographing fish to people. If you shop around, you will find wedding photography prices all over the place but just like most things, you get what you pay for. More importantly, since wedding photos are one of the only tangible takeaways of a wedding day, I suggest you get the very best photographer you can afford. I offer a number of wedding collections with prices starting at $700 for elopements and $2650 for 6hrs of coverage, an engagement session, online gallery and USB drive with your edited digital files. I completely understand that everyone has a budget so if one of my wedding packages doesn't meet your needs, I am happy to craft a custom collection for you. There is no easy answer to this because each wedding is different and the logistics, size of the wedding, and style of reception factor in greatly. Most of my clients choose 8 hours. I offer a six hour package, and although that’s tempting to a lot of couples, six hours of coverage is really best for small weddings with short receptions. If you want photos of things like getting ready, personal wedding details, and reception coverage up to a grand exit, then you need to plan for at least 8 hours of coverage. The best way to determine your photography coverage needs is to fill me in on what your expectations are and I am happy to guide you through the process. And frankly, I'm a terrible salesman so you won't get an “up sell” from me.

I love travel and the opportunity to photograph weddings in new places really gets my creative brain flowing. My goal is to be the wedding photographer at Biltmore House in Asheville or your wedding photographer in Grand Teton National Park (my favorite place on earth). I've photographed weddings in Baltimore, Charleston, the NC Mountains and even Cancun. Depending on location, there may be no additional fees. I don't typically charge for travel time so contact me and let's talk! 

Your high resolution digital files will be delivered to you via a private online gallery which is available to you for one year. From there you may view, share, and download the digital files. You will also receive a custom USB drive with your digital files. Your wedding gallery is linked to an affordable professional color print lab where you may order prints I guarantee to be color correct and archival quality. You are not obligated to use them however, and will receive a print release to print at the color lab of your choice. If you need help printing please let me know. I am happy to help.

The first thing you should do is backup your USB drive when it arrives! I can replace it for $75 and reload your gallery for another year of access for $50. Meanwhile, your files are always safe here with me, backed up in multiple locations.

Typically it will take between 6-8 weeks. I always try to provide a sneak peek within 3 days of the wedding on social media (with your permission of course) to enjoy and share with friends.

Your wedding photos are edited for color correction, cropping and simple retouches—yes, they will look great! If you have a blemish or a spot on the tux, I've got you covered. If there’s a pole in an otherwise perfect photo, it's gone. However, extensive retouching such as tan lines, eyeglass glare, removal of people or backgrounds, slenderizing, and hair tidying is labor intensive and charged on a per image basis when those corrections are requested. Images that you choose for your wedding album will get a full edit for perfection at no additional charge.

Depending on the hourly coverage and the flow of the day, you can expect approximately 60 to 75 quality jpg images per hour of coverage. 

No, and you don't want them! I delete duplicate images, test shots, shots with unflattering expressions and shots I just blow. Yep, it happens. So trust me, I am going to give you anything and everything I think you will cherish or enjoy from your day. No limits on numbers, just the best of the entire wedding. On a typical wedding day, I will take about 2000 photos, but most of those photos are taken in fast bursts. For example, when I photograph the family formals I will take about 5-8 photos every time. That’s because it’s really hard to get a photo of a group of people with everyone’s eyes open and their mouths closed. Out of that series of photos, you might get two, because in all the other photos, people are blinking or reciting epic poetry or whatever they’re doing that isn’t what they should have been doing. It’s kind of the same for pictures of guests dancing at the reception. Some of them are awesome but others, well, not so much and nobody wants to look at that. In the end, you get a beautiful set of perfect photos showing everyone at their best, and you don’t have to weed through a bunch of crummy ones to find them. 

Your gallery will primarily be in color but some images are inherently better in B&W. When I am editing your images if something works really well both in black and white or color, I will provide it both ways. If I only provide it in black and white, there's a good chance that's the best version.
